The resort also has plans to unveil a massive waterpark, adding fantastic slides and oversized wave pools to the hotels already expansive Pirate’s Island area. The Italian Village and Waterpark, scheduled to open in January 2009. The Village will have its own lobby, check-in area, lavish family suites, new gourmet dining options and retail space. FAMILY SUITES: All family suites will feature a separate kid’s room with bunk beds, an XBOX game console and plasma TV. The décor for the kids’ rooms will feature a sand dollar print on the pillows and white duvets. The suites will also feature a separate bedroom for adults, complete with a sitting area featuring a day bed or pullout sofa, an additional plasma TV, a mahogany four-poster bed dressed with luxurious linens in a coral theme, and an elegant bathroom that showcases white carrara marble wall tile, vanities with his and her sinks decorated with green marble trim and glass mosaic accents, plus a whirlpool tub. The décor for all suites will be earth tones, with palm tree side draperies, seashell throw pillows, and impressive 24 x 24 beige tile flooring. The Italian Village will also feature 18 “Imperial” rooms, which can be purchased to expand the family suite to include a living and dining room area, cocktail table, lounge chair, desk, 42” plasma TV, oval dining table with seating for six, wet bar with granite top, butler’s pantry with refrigerator and microwave, a full closet and an additional bathroom. The living room will feature a day bed and pullout sofa to sleep up to four additional persons. Available on a request-only basis, all 18 “Imperial” suites come complete with Beaches Resorts’ exclusive Butler Service. SHOPPING VILLAGE: The new Village will also be home to a 7,000-sq.-ft. retail area, offering values and valuables for everyone. KIDS KAMPS:
All age groups are attended to with Beaches Resorts’ Kids Kamp program, and the Italian Village will include a new Pirate & Mermaid-themed Kids Kamp facility, which will cater specifically to kids and tweens (ages 6 – 12). This new themed-area will offer more video arcade games, an expanded XBOX® Game Oasis Center featuring XBOX 360° game consoles, space for Beaches Resorts’ Beach Science programs, a games area, and space to engage children’s imagination and artistic ability through Crayola® Art Camp activities. Beaches has even created bathrooms specially
designed for its younger guests, also with a pirate ship theme, which include décor of wood paneling, portholes and lanterns. The Italian Village piazza area will also feature a family bathroom.
Other Kids Kamp clubs include the exclusive Camp Sesame for infants and toddlers, where tiny tykes are read stories by a Beaches Ultra Nanny or can enjoy time well spent with one of their favorite furry friends from Sesame Street.
Teens will also enjoy a host of activities and amenities designed just for them. During the day, the Italian Village’s new nightclub, Liquid – an aqua-themed space built above the waterpark that features a sunken dance floor with views of the lazy river – will transform into a teen lounge. This new space, sure to be the hit of the resort, will be complete with jammin’ music and internet access and will be just steps away from a new and improved game room where teens and tweens can try their luck at pool, foosball and basketball, all in a retro black light environment. Teens will also have their very own Red Laneâ "Youth" Spa, with treatments and services geared just for teens and tweens, including makeovers and hair braiding.

NEW WATERPARK:
Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa’s popular Pirate’s Island Waterpark will be expanded to ten times its initial size and will become one the largest, most comprehensive waterparks in all of the Caribbean. The Pirate’s Island themed aqua-playground will unveil seven new slides, for a total of nine – allowing guests to choose between body and tube, as they wind down up to 300 feet of pure adventure. The park will feature a pool and aqua play area complete with water cannons, cranks and spray features. "Surfs up dude" at the all-new surf simulator, where adventure seekers will ‘crank it up’ on boogie and surf boards amidst white-water rafting and surfing conditions. Don’t be surprised to find this wave area the center of activity, where extreme sports competitions and invitationals will be scheduled. Vacationers wanting to be a part of the action, but not in the surf, can enjoy the splash deck with pop-up jets, the winding lazy river or the relaxed observation area – but beware because at this water-centric hotspot, you never know when you’re going to get wet! Families can choose to unwind in the nearby piazza area or watch the littlest swimmers frolic in the zero-entry pool for tots. |
GOURMET DINING:
When it comes to fabulous dining, you won’t have to travel very far, as a variety of new dining options abound in the Italian Village. A new 250-seat Italian restaurant will take guests to the heart of northern Italy, as a Tuscan-inspired open kitchen welcomes guests to choose from delicious offerings served buffet-style. Brick walls, decorative ironwork and vaulted ceilings bring a taste of Tuscany to the Caribbean.
The restaurant will also feature a special Medieval-themed children’s section– a Beaches Resorts’ first – where kids can dine amongst their favorite pals from Sesame Street, while surrounded by turrets, towers and torch lights, even crossing over a moat to enter through their own designated entrance!
There will also be a casual Barefoot by the Sea restaurant serving up local seafood right on the beach, as well as a British pub with traditional bangers and mash and local ales.
Additionally, the Village will have a piazza area featuring a traditional wood-fired pizza oven, serving up over 20 different varieties of hand-tossed pizza. Next to the pizzeria, kids will have their very own Kids Grille, where they can help themselves to burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, ice cream and "mock"tails throughout the day, at a counter made just for their size. |
