The Best Beaches Of Turks & Caicos

Surrounded by the world's third-largest coral reef, the Turks & Caicos Islands in the British West Indies have some of the finest powdery-sand beaches and most ethereal turquoise seas in the world. Most are just minutes away from an airport, and you'll rarely have to vie for beach space with anyone else. Tour boats can whisk you to uninhabited cays where you can play Robinson Crusoe for a day. The waters are pristine and diamond-clear, and waves rarely rise above a gentle ripple -- perfect for young kids and snorkelers of all ages.

Beaches Turks & Caicos all-inclusive Family Resort is your very own fantasy come to life. Set on one of the most glorious beaches on the globe, twelve pristine miles of white sand, overlooking water of a thousand turquoise hues, this spot enchants with its unspoiled, mythical beauty.

Beaches Turks & Caicos Beach - One of the best locations in the Caribbean (we've visited 10 islands/resorts). A beautiful view. The beach can be crowded, especially when people save chairs and leave for hours. This should not be permitted and in my mind is a selfish and unfriendly practice by guests. We always found a good spot and ended up becoming friendly with a few people who sat in approximately the same location each day. In the end, we would share space and it worked out. This being said, we are sun people and didn't mind being in the sun most of the day. By early afternoon, shade space opens up. Snorkeling a short walk up the beach is wonderful (take it from a scuba diver - who was land bound by a pregnancy this visit).

Grace Bay (Providenciales): These 19km (12 miles) of pale sands and azure seas are the pride of Provo; Condé Nast Traveler has called this one of the world's best beaches. An increasing number of resorts and condo hotels have sprung up along the shore. Like much of the TCI, the beach is fringed by a coral reef system with fabulous snorkeling and diving.

“fantastic”

Grace Bay

Chances are your hotel is somewhere on Grace Bay, with its stunning stretch of satin-soft white sand wrapping around the northeastern edge of Providenciales, the main island. The beach gently slopes into the ocean, which reveals bands of blue and green that are so brilliant no postcard could do them justice. This must be one of the loveliest beaches anywhere in the tropics. Time your stroll with the setting sun when the orange light reflects off the blue water.

I thought I would write a short review as the ones here are 4 years out of date and so misleading....
Grace bay is stunning, the pictures don't do it justice. the water in the summer months is lovely and warm ..during the first few months of the year the water (Atlantic Ocean) gets rather chilly.
There has been some major building projects going on...these include new roads, condo blocks and more places to eat and drink, costs are about the same as in the UK or 40-50% more expensive than the costs in the USA. There are no fast food chains like KFC.
Frankly if you stay somewhere along this section of coast you wont need to go anywhere else.
People are friendly, they speak English, and if you drive they use the correct side of the road like we do in the UK, the LEFT..

Malcolm Beach (Providenciales): The traditional way to see this charming cove (often referred to as Malcolm Roads Beach) is with a 4*4 along twisting, bumpy Malcolm Roads. You can also access the beach by staying at Amanyara (the resort is adjacent to the beach) or by getting a tour-boat operator to take you there. Its waters are part of the Northwest Point Marine National Park.

Long Bay (Providenciales): The calm, shallow waters of this quiet beach on Provo's southeastern shore make it perfect for young children. Take a horseback ride on the beach here with Provo Ponies.

Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay (Providenciales): Part of the Chalk Sound National Park, these beautiful, shallow bays along Provo's southwest coastline have soft silty bottoms and warm water.

Pine Cay (Caicos Cays): The money shot in Caribbean Travel & Life's coverage of the 2005-06 winter season? A pic of this private island's perfect crescent of pale white sand rimmed by azure seas. The island is also home to The Meridian Club.

Some Very Good Reasons For Planning A Vacation On The Turks And
Caicos Islands
By Gordon Steven
The Turks and Caicos actually consists of forty different
islands and Cays, but only eight of which have people living on
them, and are within easy flying range of Miami.
The differences between the islands is quite marked, from
Providenciales which is the main place for tourists, to the

opposite end of the spectrum which would be the totally peaceful
islands of North and Middle Caicos. The again a visit to the
historic Capital Island of Great Turk would be a different
experience altogether.
Many people return year after year to the Turks and Caicos
because each of the islands is different, they all have
different characteristics, each offering the visitor a different
experience.
Providenciales is the best known and most developed of the
Turks and Caicos islands. You will arrive at the International
Airport here, and most of the islands are less than 25 minutes
flying time from here.
Providenciales not only has some of the best Turks and Caicos
Luxury resorts, it also is surrounded by some of the best
beaches not just in the Caribbean but in the world.
Grand Turk is where most cruise ships arrive, and is where
Cockburn Town the historic centre of this the Capital Island. It
is also famous for its diving.
Salt Cay is a tiny island of a little over two square miles,
reckoned by some to be one of the best kept secrets in the
Caribbean, with some stunning beaches, and fantastic diving.
Salt Cay is the place to come at certain times of year to see
humpback whales.
North Caicos has the most rainfall, and has lush vegetation. It
is easily accessible from Providenciales, also has white sand
beaches, and the largest flock of pink flamingos in the islands.
It is beginning to develop luxury resorts.
South Caicos is the fishing capital of the Turks and Caicos,
and you would go there for this, birdlife, fresh seafood dishes
and diving.
Middle Caicos is the largest of the islands and it has a more
dramatic coastline with limestone cliffs to the north, and is

home to a large cave network, and the remains of huge Lucayan
Indian settlements.
West Caicos has possibly the most superbly beautiful diving
sites in the Turks and Caicos. It is uninhabited but is being
developed as a totally exclusive hideaway.
East Caicos is large but uninhabited with a beautiful beach on
the northcoast which is used by sea turtles to lay their eggs,
but no people because of the huge numbers of mosquitos.
The 100 acre Parrot Cay is the site of one of the world’s most
exclusive resorts the Parrot Cay resort and Spa, and a few very
exclusive beachfront homes.
Pine Cay is home to The Meridan Club, and the fresh water lakes
were the reason for some very early inhabitants. The most
striking feature of Pine Cay is its beautiful beach.
Dellis Cay is a small uninhabited island just east of Pine Cay,
hosting a Mandarin Oriental Hotel on a 35 acre beachfront site.
Ambergris Cay is miles from the nearest inhabited island, and
was uninhabited for nearly five centuries. It now hosts a very
very exclusive development.
You see therefore there are huge choices within the Turks and
Caicos and it remains one of the best beach getaway destinations
in the Caribbean.

I found Heaven
By dcjeff2003, 06/28/05
This place is heaven on earth. That is if you like water and beach activities. Diving is second to none. I just wish this place could forever remain a secret place but as it typically goes.....every one wants a piece of heaven. The friendliest people you could want. Very safe! You have to go to Hemingways...Kona, the bartender, is awesome. I am going back soon with my entire office staff and their families.

Parrot Cay (Caicos Cays): Another gorgeous private island, this one with a secluded beach graced by beach bums of the celebrity variety.

Sandy Point (North Caicos): Up until now, only boaters and those in the know found their way to this crescent of perfect beach, within sight of the Parrot Cay Resort. Ground was broken in 2006 for construction of the Royal Reef Resort, a luxury hotel and condos fronting the beach.

Whitby beaches (North Caicos): The coves of Three Mary Cays are prime snorkeling spots. Step into the shallows of the palm-fringed Pelican Point beach (in front of Pelican Beach Hotel) and find conch shells of every size. Lovely Horsestable Beach has enjoyed its North Caicos seclusion for years (it's also a prime bird-watching spot); now it's the future home of the $70-million St. Charles condominium resort.

Mudjin Harbor (Middle Caicos): This beach is as stunning seen from the green limestone cliffs towering above as it is in an up-close exploration of the wind-swept coves below.

Bambarra Beach (Middle Caicos): Casuarina trees fringe this picturesque white-sand beach. Its calm, shallow aquamarine waters are the site of the festive Valentine's Day model sailboat races, and the Middle Caicos Day beach party is held here in August.

Governor's Beach (Grand Turk): Grand Turk's most celebrated beach has great snorkeling and is a popular picnic spot under shady pines. It's in the Columbus Landfall National Park -- more about Columbus's "landfall" later -- and within sightlines of the new Grand Turk Cruise Center, which in 2006 began welcoming 2,000-passenger ships 2 days a week.

Pillory Beach (Grand Turk): The Bohio Dive Resort is set on this handsome stretch of Grand Turk beach.

The beaches of Salt Cay: This tiny island has some of the best snorkeling beaches in the Caribbean. The calmest waters are usually found on North Beach and Point Pleasant

think about it
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 05/15/07
If you are looking for a laid back, quiet
beach with beautiful beaches this used to be the place. With all of the construction now
going on the quiet is no longer available.
The beaches are beautiful and the water is
clear and a multitude of mixed blue and emerald green. For divers it is not what it used to be but what is ? The food in general is very pricey but tastes good. the same as any other resort area. The people are very friendly and work extremely hard to attempt to enhance your stay. Most of the service people work 2 full time jobs. The roads system is horrible, and the majority of the car rental establishments are very overpriced and the cars are small. The weather is fabulous and some of the hotels are terrific. There is no night life for adults unless drinking is what your vacation is about.
If you want a vacation where you and your partner can reconnect, walk on a powder like beach, submerge yourself in a crystal clear ocean and enjoy the darkness of night then the turks may be perfect for you.
